Dr. T. Kyle Stoops is a board eligible Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in total joint replacements, including total hip replacement, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, outpatient joint replacement, and computer assisted techniques. Dr. Stoops’ philosophy is to treat every patient like family and would not perform any treatment that he would not recommend for his own family. He strives to educate patients in all aspects surrounding their care, so he and the patient together can formulate a customized treatment plan to assist them in returning to and maintaining their active lifestyle.
Dr. Stoops is a Midwest native, growing up in Southern Ohio before completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Tampa. He competed as an intercollegiate athlete in men’s basketball. He received his Medical Degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Stoops completed a Biomechanical and Clinical Research Fellowship at the Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education in Tampa, Florida. There, he conducted and authored numerous studies in the field of Orthopaedics which he has presented at national and international meetings throughout his career. Dr. Stoops stayed in Tampa for his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency with the University of South Florida and the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. After residency, he completed an Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine and the Indiana Joint Replacement Institute, focusing on primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. In conjunction with his fellowship, Dr. Stoops had the privilege of working as a Staff Surgeon at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Hospital providing hip and knee replacement surgery and orthopaedic care to veterans while also having the opportunity to teach the Indiana University orthopaedic surgery residents.
Outside of orthopaedics, he spends his time with his wife, visits family, and travels. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and going to collegiate and professional sporting events.
