Timothy Williams, MD
Dr. Timothy Williams is a board-certified, Harvard-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement and hip and knee revision surgeries. With over 19 years of experience in hip and knee replacement surgery, he brings a wealth of expertise to the Indiana Joint Replacement Institute. Dr. Williams integrates his extensive experience with the latest innovations in joint replacement techniques to achieve outstanding patient outcomes. He is committed to a team-driven approach, placing the patient at the center of the team. By collaborating closely with his staff and therapists, Dr. Williams aims to help patients return to pain-free activities. He is particularly focused on facilitating rapid recovery following joint replacement surgery.
Originally form Ohio, Dr. Williams obtained his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center, where he trained with one of the pioneers in modern joint replacement surgery. He furthered his education with a Fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at Harvard’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Williams has practiced medicine in Indiana since 2006.
A recognized expert in joint replacement surgery, Dr. Williams is passionate about ongoing innovation in the field. He has participated in research, authored articles, and contributed to books on joint replacement.
Previously affiliated with the nationally renowned Center for Hip and Knee Surgery in Mooresville, Indiana, Dr. Williams has also held surgical and leadership positions at the Center for Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, Westfield Orthopedics/Riverview Health in Westfield, and served as Chief of Medical Staff and Medical Director for Orthopaedics and Joint Services at St. Francis Health and Hospitals in Indianapolis and Mooresville Indiana.
Outside of work, Dr. Williams enjoys traveling with his family, reading, cooking, and exploring the Indianapolis food scene. He actively seeks out local chefs and culinary talent to support and highlight their work.
