Peter Hogg, MD
Dr. Peter Hogg brings more than 10 years of practice experience to Indiana Joint Replacement Institute in all areas of shoulder reconstruction. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been recognized as a top doctor by Indianapolis Monthly. He has served as Chairman of Orthopaedics and as Medical Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Franciscan Health-Indianapolis.
Dr. Hogg was born in Bluffton, Indiana and raised on the family farm. He received his Undergraduate degree from DePauw University where he achieved Summa Cum Laude in biochemistry and competed in track and cross country all four years. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his Orthopedic Residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dr. Hogg has had extensive training and experience in all aspects of the shoulder that include shoulder replacement, anatomic shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder replacement, outpatient shoulder replacement, revision shoulder replacement, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, bicep tendon repair, comprehensive shoulder fracture management – Including open reduction and internal fixation and arthroplasty, as well as comprehensive upper extremity fracture management of the shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm and wrist.
In his free time Peter enjoys traveling with his wife and two children, snow skiing and competing in ultra trail marathons. A few of his personal best running achievements include winning the USATF 100-mile trail national championship, the Tecumseh trail marathon (three times) and setting the fastest known time for the Tecumseh and Knobstone trails.
